Independent European initiative · Global ambition

AI will radically change our lives. We must be equally radical in deciding how.

Humanity faces a fundamental choice. Without enforceable safeguards and a new societal and economic architecture, autonomous intelligence could make society more productive while leaving people economically less secure, intellectually more dependent and progressively less free.

We can instead design a safer, freer and more prosperous society in which AI genuinely serves humanity.

Radical AI 2030 proposes ten interconnected principles and an independent European programme to investigate and help implement this alternative.

What if we do nothing?

AI agents and autonomous robots are becoming capable of carrying out a growing share of intellectual and physical work. This could disconnect productivity from employment and purchasing power, concentrate economic power and expose people to decisions or actions they cannot adequately challenge.

Young people face a particularly important question: will learning, creativity and ambition still lead to meaningful opportunities? These are serious risks, not inevitable predictions. The responsible choice is to investigate and prevent foreseeable harm before it becomes entrenched.

  • Economic security

Productivity could disconnect from employment and purchasing power.

  • Safety and human control

People could face decisions or actions they cannot adequately challenge.

  • The next generation

Will learning, creativity and ambition still lead to meaningful opportunities?

Understand the challenge

A radically better society is possible.

Imagine a society in which AI supports human safety and dignity, citizens participate in the value created by autonomous intelligence, expertise receives fair recognition and people gain genuine freedom to decide how much they work, learn, care, create and contribute.

Young people retain reasons to invest in their own capabilities. Government becomes more responsive and accountable. The ambition is not a society without work; it is a society with more meaningful human choice.

The ten founding principles

  1. 01 Human primacy and non-harm by design
  2. 02 The social-AI contract
  3. 03 Binding ethical governance
  4. 04 AI accountability and liability
  5. 05 Universal access to intelligence
  6. 06 Human development and economic security beyond employment
  7. 07 Historical intellectual-property restitution
  8. 08 The paid-knowledge economy
  9. 09 Universal AI economic settlement
  10. 10 Collective citizen ownership, dividends and social financing

Ten essential building blocks. One integrated architecture. All ten dimensions must be addressed together. The proposed mechanisms must remain open to independent challenge, validation and improvement.

Two deadlines, one responsibility

2027

Protect humanity.

Develop and independently assess an AI Guardian framework combining protective AI analysis, technical safeguards, monitoring, auditability and meaningful human intervention. By 31 December 2027, target enforceable protections in selected participating European deployments. No system can guarantee zero harm.

2030

Begin transforming society.

Investigate and validate ways to share AI-generated prosperity, reward knowledge, finance social protection and transform public services. Begin implementing viable mechanisms where democratically authorised.

These are objectives, not achievements. Explore the programme

Independent minds. One shared mission.

60 independent members

20 proposed institutional specialists

Proposed, subject to approval. No members have been appointed.

Radical AI proposes a European Forum of 60 independent members in social, economic, technological, educational and entrepreneurial fields, complemented by 20 proposed institutional specialists whose participation requires appropriate authorisation.

Its three councils ask: What society do we want? How do we finance it? How do we make it work? The Forum must remain free to challenge the founder’s assumptions, reject weak mechanisms and publish independent evidence.

  • What society do we want?

  • How do we finance it?

  • How do we make it work?

A responsibility I could no longer ignore.

After more than 30 years of entrepreneurship and 22 years working with AI, I believe the wider societal consequences deserve urgent, joined-up thinking. My work on governed AI adoption, enterprise systems and fairly compensated expertise led to a larger question: how should society itself evolve when intelligence becomes increasingly autonomous?

I wrote Radical AI 2030 — The society we choose, part of The 360° Society book series, to put forward a coherent proposal—not a finished doctrine. I would rather begin an honest debate with an imperfect solution than remain passive while society changes around us.

Help shape the society we choose.

Radical AI 2030 is an invitation to protect humanity, take young people’s future seriously and investigate a new social and economic architecture. Support the mission—or help develop and challenge the proposed solutions.

Support the initiative.

Add your name to a growing community calling for an independent, evidence-led response to autonomous intelligence. This does not mean endorsing every proposed economic mechanism or joining the Forum.

Registration opens as soon as the privacy details of the initiative are published. No personal data is collected until then.

Contribute expertise.

Experts, institutions, funders and pilot partners can start a serious conversation about developing and challenging the proposed solutions. This is separate from supporting the mission.
