The programme
Two tracks, running in parallel
Protection does not wait for long-term economic modelling. Everything on this page is an objective or a proposal, unless its status says otherwise.
Track A
Protection by 2027
Develop and independently assess an AI Guardian framework. By 31 December 2027, target operational, independently evaluated and enforceable protections in selected participating European deployments.
This is neither universal EU-wide protection nor a guarantee of zero harm.
Track B
Societal and economic transformation by 2030
Target validated mechanisms and the beginning of democratically authorised implementation.
This does not mean a fully transformed society by 2030.
Five programmes
